The Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (NOVA FCT) hosted the 9th Edition of the Doctoral Programme in Environment and Sustainability (PDAS) Seminar from July 3rd to 5th, 2024. Check out the full programme here.
This event brought together around 50 PhD students, including a significant number of international students from 10 different countries, and approximately 25 lecturers/researchers from NOVA FCT. Over the three days, doctoral students had the opportunity to discuss ongoing research projects among peers in 12 parallel thematic sessions and to present their projects to all participants using creative approaches such as installations, musical compositions, paintings, drawings, poems, performances, and other innovative ideas.
Among the invited speakers for this edition were Professors Bernhardus Johannes van Hoof from the University of Los Andes, Colombia, Marco Painho from the NOVA Information Management School (NOVA IMS), and Maria Rosa Paiva from NOVA FCT, as well as Rita Lopes and André Nouri, lecturers at NOVA FCT, and Paula R. Guedes, researcher at CENSE - Center for Environmental and Sustainability Research. To address the connection between researchers and companies, Vanda Santos, Human Resources Director at Biosurfit SA, and Nelia Camara, Director of NOVA Executive Education at NOVA FCT, shared their experiences on Post PhD — Corporate Career, among other topics.
